No more worrying about how to train. Just focus on running, and I’ll take care of the rest.

I’m Owen Foytack, an upcoming online running coach who helps athletes of all ages and skill levels train with purpose and dedication. I have lived in the Scranton area all my life, so I can also show you all the best NEPA running spots!

As a competitive division III runner for King’s College, I understand the commitment it takes to develop from one season to the next. Throughout my years of running, I have put together essential skills that will carry over to coaching. This includes training 100+ mile weeks, double run days, threshold zones, different forms of cross training, nutrition, and the best recovery methods. Obviously, training will be different for everyone depending on their experience and goals, but I have the ability to get you to where you want to be. My experience spans mid-distance, distance, and cross country, and I am capable of coaching athletes from 800m on the track through the marathon on the roads.

I believe great coaching is more than a training plan. It means understanding where you are, what drives you, and how your running fits into the rest of your life. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, preparing for your first race, returning after time away, or looking to take your training more seriously, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward.

My coaching combines structure with flexibility. Your plan will include the right mix of mileage, workouts, strength work, injury-prevention strategies, recovery, race preparation, fueling guidance, and gear advice. Just as importantly, it will adapt to real life—school, work, travel, injuries, and the unexpected.

Coaching is primarily online through Final Surge, where you’ll receive detailed weekly training and ongoing feedback. We’ll begin with a phone or Google meet conversation, or you can fill out the questionnaire located on this website, so I can learn about your background, goals, schedule, and what you want from the sport. For athletes in the area, I may also be available for in-person runs, workouts, pacing, or race support when circumstances allow.

Training Through Final Surge

I use Final Surge to remotely deliver your training plan, track your progress, and keep coaching communication organized in one place.

After our initial conversation, you’ll receive an invitation to join my coaching group in Final Surge/TeamRunRun. From there, you can view your full training calendar on your phone or computer.

Each week, I’ll add your personalized mileage, workouts, recovery days, strength sessions, and race-specific preparation directly to your calendar. Every workout will include the details you need, such as distance, pace or effort targets, warm-up and cool-down, and notes for completing the session successfully.

After a run or workout, you can upload or sync your activity data and leave notes about how it felt. I’ll review your completed sessions, including details such as pace, distance, heart rate, elevation, and training feedback when available. This helps me see how your training is going and make adjustments when needed.

Final Surge also gives us a simple way to communicate. You can leave comments or questions directly on individual workouts, and I can respond with feedback, encouragement, and changes to your plan.

If you experience pain, illness, unusual fatigue, or a schedule change, let me know as soon as possible. Training is not set in stone—your plan will be adapted to keep you progressing safely and consistently toward your goals.

Final Surge can also support structured workouts and connect with compatible devices and apps, helping you keep your training organized whether you run on the road, track, trail, or treadmill.

Coaching Payment & Flexibility (Currently 50% off your first month!)

Contracts are billed monthly. There are discounted rates for initial first-time athletes as well as for referrals and reviews.

Coaching rates may change over time based on client workload and the level of support requested. Any changes will always be communicated clearly in advance.

For athletes who would like in-person support—such as a workout, run, or race-day attendance—additional sessions may be available within a reasonable radius. These sessions are priced separately.

I know life does not always follow a training plan. Injuries, illness, school, work, travel, and unexpected circumstances can all affect running. I aim to be flexible and adaptive, adjusting your training as needed and allowing athletes to pause coaching when necessary. When you’re ready to return, we can build a practical path back toward your goals.
